GoHighLevel alternative? Do the per-client math first

laptop, coffee, arm

If you run an agency on GoHighLevel and you are looking around, it is usually for one of two reasons: the AI add-on is priced per sub-account and the bill scales faster than the roster, or you only ever used a slice of the platform and are paying for the other ninety percent.

We build BABAV, which competes with GoHighLevel on exactly one of the many things GHL does. So read this the way you would read any comparison written by a rival — check the numbers yourself. We have tried to make that easy by being specific about where GoHighLevel is the better buy, which is most of the time.

The honest headline: these are not the same product

GoHighLevel is an operating system for a marketing agency — CRM, pipelines, funnels, websites, calendars, courses, memberships, phone and SMS, reputation management, and a reseller layer over all of it. BABAV does one job: it answers your clients’ DMs, comments and emails in each client’s own voice, across twelve channels, and it posts.

If you need the pipeline, the funnel builder and the phone system, this comparison ends here and you should stay on GoHighLevel. There is no version of BABAV that replaces those. The rest of this page is for agencies whose actual daily use of GHL is conversations.

The math on ten clients

This is the part people are usually searching for.

GoHighLevel, from their published pricing as we read it on 28 July 2026: the Unlimited plan is $297/mo, and the “AI Employee” add-on is priced per sub-account at $50 or $97/mo depending on configuration, with WhatsApp adding $10 per sub-account. Ten clients on the $97 tier is $297 + $970 = $1,267/mo. The platform fee is flat; the AI is the part that scales with your roster.

BABAV is a flat wholesale rate per client that drops as the roster grows:

  • 1–4 clients — $99 per client / month
  • 5–14 clients — $89 per client / month
  • 15–49 clients — $77 per client / month
  • 50+ clients — $65 per client / month

Ten clients is ten × $89 = $890/mo, and every one of those clients is on all six billable channels — there is no cheaper tier we are quietly comparing against. On top of that, each client contributes $15/month of usage into one shared pool, so ten clients carry $150/mo of included usage before a cent of overage. Past the pool you set one agency-wide hard cap the agent cannot exceed.

Two caveats, because a comparison table without them is marketing. First, GHL’s $297 covers the CRM, funnels, calendars and phone system that BABAV does not have at any price — you are not comparing like for like, you are comparing what you use. Second, those GoHighLevel figures are a snapshot from a public pricing page on a specific date; pricing in this category moves, and you should open it yourself before making a decision on our arithmetic.

Per-sub-account versus per-client, and why it matters

Both products charge you per client. The difference is what happens underneath.

GoHighLevel’s AI add-on attaches to a sub-account, so the cost is fixed per client whether that client’s inbox is busy or dead. A quiet client costs the same as a loud one.

BABAV charges the wholesale seat plus what the agent actually did. A reply is $0.02. A text post is $0.05, a post with media $0.10, a YouTube post $0.25, a discovered lead $0.05, a cold email $0.10. Your quiet clients cost close to their seat price; your loud ones consume the shared pool. Across a roster that averages out, and it means a client who churns stops costing you the day they stop talking.

Which shape is cheaper depends entirely on your roster. A roster of ten high-volume clients can plausibly cost more on BABAV once you exceed the pool. Work out your own message volume before you switch — that single number decides this, not our table.

White-label, and what it costs

Every agency client gets a dashboard under your brand — your logo, your colours, your app name. Clients never see the word BABAV. You get a subdomain immediately, and pointing your own domain at it is free: one CNAME, and HTTPS is issued automatically. There is no separate white-label tier and no per-domain charge.

Teammates are free. There are five built-in roles — owner, admin, operator, viewer, finance — enforced everywhere, and you are not billed per human on your side of the account. You only ever pay for clients.

Where GoHighLevel is genuinely better

Not a courtesy section. These are real and you should weigh them heavily.

  • It is a full CRM and we are not. GHL has configurable sales pipelines, opportunities, deal stages and deal values, with reporting over all of it. BABAV has a fixed three-stage prospect pipeline — new, contacted, replied — and that is the whole of it. If you manage deals by value and stage, you need GHL.
  • Funnels, websites, courses, memberships. We have none of these and no plan to build them.
  • Phone and SMS. GHL does voice and text messaging natively. BABAV does not currently send SMS.
  • Rebilling. GHL lets you mark up and resell usage to your clients inside the platform. We do not have a rebilling layer — you bill your clients yourself.
  • An enormous ecosystem. Snapshots, templates, an agency community, a hiring pool of people who already know the tool. That has real operational value and we cannot match it.

What BABAV does not do, full stop

If any of these matter, we are the wrong tool and we would rather you found out here.

  • No shared team inbox. No ticket assignment, no internal notes, no collision detection, no audit of who replied. One login per brand.
  • No commerce actions. No order lookup, no refunds, no inventory, no subscription edits.
  • No SOC 2. Not yet. If your procurement requires it, we will fail it.
  • No published resolution rate. We do not compute one, so we will not quote a number we cannot defend.
  • Threads auto-replies are pending Meta approval. Threads reads and insights work today; automatic replying does not.

Who should actually switch

Agencies whose clients sell through DMs — creators, coaches, local service businesses with busy Instagram and WhatsApp inboxes — where the work you are actually billing for is conversations, and where the funnel builder and phone system in your current stack have gone unused for months.

If you are running full-service marketing operations on GoHighLevel and living in the pipeline view, stay there. Running both is also a legitimate answer, and more common than either vendor likes to admit: GHL for the CRM and funnels, BABAV for the conversations.
